Tricast Bet

Along the same lines of a forecast, a tricast involves picking three selections in a race in the correct order. This type of bet is only available in handicaps of eight runners or more due to the increased likelihood of the event occuring the less horses features in the race.  Aside from a straight tricast, a combination tricast consists of 6 bets, with the three selections needing to finish in any order, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Forecast Bet

Forecasts consist of picking two selections in the same event. A straight forecast involved picking, for instance, two horses in a race to place first and second, in that order.  A reverse forecast offers a little more wiggle room in that the two horses can finish in either order (AB or BA) and you still win. Lastly, and less popular,  a combination forecast  involves picking three selections, two of which have to place first and second in any order.

If you see a race as being out of two horses, a forecast can be the ideal type of bet, especially if one of them or both are big odds selections.

Super Heinz Bet

In you thought a Heinz bet contained a lot of bets, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Based on 7 initial selections, a Super Heinz bet consists of a staggering 120 bets. We have 21 doubles, 35 trebles, 35 four-folds, 21 five-folds, 7 six-folds and 1 seven-fold. A minimum of 2 of your selections must be successful to gain a return. The bet is clearly more all encompassing when compared to a seven-fold acca, but then a seven-fold is quite an unlikely bet to come up, and so this is a compromise that some opt for.

Lucky 63 Bet

A lucky 63 bet consists of a total of 63 bets based on six initial selections. There are 6 single bets, 15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 four-folds, 6 five-folds and 1 six-fold bet. With so many variations it’s certainly an ambitious punt and offers plenty of scope for good returns if you find that several of your selections win. Of course, if there are one or two loses, unlike with an outright 6 fold bet, it doesn’t mean that the entire bet is a loser.

Heinz Bet

A Heinz bet is more ambitious still than the 5 selection variations, in that it consists of 6 selections and a total of 57 separate bets (doubles x 15, trebles x 20, four-fold x 15, five-fold x 6, six-fold x 1). With a Heinz Bet your bet is split in many direction with many possibilities to win. These of course have to be weighed against any loses accrued with out of the 57 bets though. . A minimum of 2 of the selections must be successful to gain a return.
